The Blues Brothers started out on Saturday Night Live in
1978. Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi did a rendition on Sam Dave’s classic “Soul
Man”, but their performance became a classic of its own. Dan stared as Elwood Blues while John stared
as the lead vocalist, Jake Blues. They went on to have two platinum albums and
stared in the film, The Blues Brothers.
On March 5, 1982, John Belushi died of an overdose at the
young age of 33. After the tragic passing of John, the show has continued to go
on. John’s younger brother Jim Belushi has picked up were his brother left off.
Jim stares as the long-lost brother Zee with a South Memphis accent to spice
things up. Together Dan and Jim continue to perform as The Blues Brothers in honor
of John.
On August 9, The Blues Brothers are taking over the
Paramount. Come down to the Paramount and enjoy Elwood and Zee Blues perform
