Bad Like Yaz

Barrington Levy struggled his way out of the slums of Kingston, Jamaica to become one of the greatest success stories of the eighties. He formed the Mighty Multitude with his cousin Everton Dacres; however, at age 14 branched out on his own and became popular in Jamaican dancehalls. It was one of the local dancehalls where Levy met producer Junjo Lawes and New York-based producer Hyman “Jah Life” Wright.

With the help of Lawes and Wright, Levy released four albums within a short span of time. The success of the albums allowed Levy to leave Jamaica and become an international performer. Some of the hit singles include “Ah Yah We Deh,” “Looking My Love,” and “Wedding Ring Aside.” He has collaborated with artists such as Snoop Dog, rapper Shyne, Jadakiss and Rascalz just to name a few.
For over 30 years, Levy is continuing to evolve with the ever changing music industry.

At the age of 50, Barrington Levy can still mash it up. On Friday, August 23rd Levy will be performing live at the Paramount. Tickets are on sale now! To purchase tickets you can visit us at the box office or purchase tickets online through TicketMaster
