Last year Matchbox Twenty performed a sold out event here at
The Paramount and now lead vocalist and primary composer, Rob Thomas, will play
another sold out event on May 5th. Rob’s distinctive voice and
graceful aging has us naming him our man crush this Monday. We can’t wait for
another intimate night with Rob Thomas as he performs all of his greatest hits
along with his solo work.
Matchbox Twenty released their last studio album entitled North last year, but Rob still feels
that his solo career is equally as important and should remain a priority. “The
reason I do what I do is because I have all these songs that are always
building up in my head, so it’s really cathartic to get a load of them out into
the world and start over again. And the solo career is a really important way
for me to do that.”
In 2004, the Songwriters Hall of Fame presented Thomas with
its first ever “Starlight Award,” which was created to recognize a songwriter
in the early years of his or her career. He has made a lasting impact on music
and in the hearts of men and women all over the world. We look forward to
having Rob Thomas back at The Paramount and he has given us another reason to
celebrate Cinco de Mayo aka "Cinco de Rob".
