The Perfect Drink is Paramount

We’ve all been there…where you can’t decide what cocktail you’re in the mood for, but now there’s a web app that can help! Drinkify helps you pair music with a fitting cocktail, so you can set the mood, enjoy the atmosphere and quench your thirst. All you have to do is enter the band/artists name and Drinkify comes up with a perfect concoction while playing a sample song from that band/artists’ collection. It was so simple we had to try it; we entered three upcoming shows and Drinkify spewed out a variety of tempting cocktails.

Join us at The Paramount for The Back to The Eighties Show with Jessie’s Girl on 7/11! The Jessie’s Girl’s primary line-up includes a team of NYC’s top rock and pop vocalists including Jenna O’Gara, Off-Broadway’s Chris Hall, and renowned “Sting” impersonator Mark Rinzel, with frequent appearances by Broadway’s own Constantine Maroulis.

The Bang Your Head Tour with Quiet Riot, Faster Pussycat, Bullet Boys & Gilby Clarke is the perfect summer concert. You can go to the beach during the day and party at The Paramount at night on 7/23!

Treat yourself to a night of line dancing and drinks at Trace Adkins on 8/1! Trace Adkins’ trademark baritone has powered countless hits to the top of the charts and sold over 10 million albums, cumulatively. Make sure to see this Grammy-nominee in August when he stops by The Paramount in downtown Huntington.

Try Drinkify this weekend at The Paramount and don’t miss Drive-By Truckers this Saturday, June 28th at 8 pm! For more information on upcoming shows this summer sign up for our FREE online newsletter, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook

The Paramount Has a Gift for Every Type of Dad!

Father’s Day is only a couple of days away and let’s face it… shopping for dad is a lot harder than picking out a gift for mom. For those of us who don’t have “Mr. Fix It” as a dad, a Home Depot gift card isn't going to cut it…but concert tickets definitely will! Picking out the perfect show for your type of dad can be tricky; that’s why we created a guideline to help.

Pranksters. For the dads who take life a little too lightly and enjoy a good laugh…mostly at your expense, treat them to tickets to a comedy show like Dana Carvey, Bill Cosby or Kathleen Madigan.

Car Collectors & Bikers. If your dad believes the perfect Sunday morning includes going down to Captree to show off his car(s) or taking his Harley out for a spin, consider getting him a pair of tickets to The Bang Your Head Tour with Quiet Riot...

Movie Lover. Does your dad make watching movies extremely difficult because he’s seen almost every movie out on Netflix…multiple times? Well then Chazz Palminteri's - A Bronx Tale or Jeff Bridges and The Abiders is perfect for him!

Sports Fanatic. For the dads who love all things sports, Joe Deguardia's Star Boxing events are the perfect gift. Purchase tickets to the next live boxing match set for July 18th!

Mr. Conservative. He’s the dad who believes that nothing good happens after 10 pm, but if you send him to Ted Nugent or Dennis Miller, he might just have a change of heart and you just might receive a later curfew...

Music Aficionado. If your dad’s playlist consists of artists from Andrea Bocelli to ZZ Top, then he would enjoy Pat Benatar on 8/30 or Ian Anderson playing the best of Jethro Tull on 11/8.

Spiritually Inclined. Do your Sunday nights include watching Long Island Medium on TLC with your dad? Well then bond over John Edwards in September! He may not have long manicured nails and big bleach-blond hair, but he is the OG of mediums.

Southern Gentleman. He loves his country, his family and a good hoedown! So treat your dad to a night of line dancing and beer at Trace Adkins on 8/1 or Blackberry Smoke concert on 8/7.

Rocker. He was the coolest guy in the 80’s with his long hair, colorful jumpsuits and a boom box in hand…now he’s the coolest dad, who doesn't care how loud the music is blasting from your room. So taking him to see Clutch on 9/27 or a Social Distortion concert on 9/5 only makes sense.

A pair of tickets to one of our upcoming shows is the perfect Father’s Day gift, but if your dad is Mr. Picky don’t sweat it! We have gift cards for sale which can be redeemed for food, drinks, venue merchandise and tickets.  We are also adding new shows weekly, so you don’t have to commit; wait for the perfect show!

Long Island Summer Adventures

For those who are unable to go on a cruise this year; fly to a tropical place like Hawaii; or even backpack through Europe… this blog is dedicated to you. Long Island has a plethora of things to do during the summer. In fact, Billy Joel recently stated in a promotional commercial that, “My favorite place is Long Island. It's an endless beach from Long Beach to Montauk to Long Island Sound, with incredible fishing, Teddy Roosevelt's home and the first port in the U.S.” So to prove Billy’s point we created a Top 10 countdown of things to do on Long Island during the summer.

10. Belmont Race Track will be holding the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes on June 7th at 630 pm.

9. Museum Row is a one stop destination for some of Long Island’s finest museums; located on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Garden City you can visit the Long Island Children’s Museum, the Nassau County Firefighter’s Museum, Long Island Museum for Science and Technology, and the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

8. At Atlantic Marine World in Riverhead you can dive with the sharks or go kayaking on the Peconic River. Atlantic Marine World is the perfect place for family fun!

7. Did you know that LI has some of the finest craft beers around? Visit local breweries like Blue Point Brewery in Patchogue, Greenport Brewery and Port Jeff Brewery.

Make sure you pull over to take a picture with The Big Duck on your drive down; it was originally built in 1931 by duck farmer Martin Maurer, who used it as a shop to sell ducks and duck eggs. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

3. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon stroll through the many arboretums Long Island has to offer. Check out Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park, Bailey Arboretum, The Bayard Cutting Arboretum and the Artistic Arborculture Inc.
