8 Commonly Misheard Lyrics

Wait, what did they say?

Karaoke just got a little awkward… these songs have us questioning our hearing.

After taking a second listen and looking up the lyrics, we seemed to clear things up.  Here’s a list of popular songs we found.

Taylor Swift: “Blank Space”

What it sounds like: “long list, Starbucks lovers”
What it actually is: “long list of ex-lovers”

True story of a basic bitch!

Iggy Azalea: “Fancy”

What it sounds like: “I’m so fancy, can’t you taste this goat”
What it actually is: “I’m so fancy, can’t you taste this gold”

Hmmm I think we’ll order something else off the menu…

Sleeping with Sirens: “Alone”

What it sounds like:  “could you check my balls for me to see if I’m alive”
What it actually is: “could you check my pulse for me to see if I’m alive”

Whoa there tiger!

DJ Khaled: “All I do is Win”

What it sounds like: “I can never get it up”
What it actually is: “I can never get enough”

You don’t sound like you’re really winning there…

Kelly Clarkson “Because of You”

What it sounds like: “I never stay too far from the salad bowl”
What it actually is: “I never stay too far from the sidewalk”

Extra croutons with that?

Avril Lavigne: “Complicated”

What it sounds like: “I’m never gonna find your bacon”
What it actually is: “I’m never gonna find you fake it”

I thought Canadians were known for their bacon?

Sam Smith: “Leave Your Lover”

What it sounds like: “suck my milk made sour free”
What it actually is: “set my midnight sorrow free”

I prefer my milk sour free too!

Andy Grammer : “Honey I’m Good”

What it sounds like: “I’ve got to pick you a dude”
What it actually is: “I’ve got to bid you adieu”

Ohhh he’s a cutie, good eyes Andy!

And speaking of Andy, he will be singing the correct lyrics of “Honey, I’m Good” at the Paramount’s new studio launch on Saturday, July 25th at 11:45am.  Make sure to come down for the ribbon cutting ceremony followed by the performance and interview at noon.  Not able to make it?  Don’t worry, tune into WALK 97.5.

We would love to hear from you, did you hear the mishaps? If we left out on anything, drop us a comment and let us know!
