While driving into work today I tuned into Pop 2K on Sirius
XM where you can hear all of the hits from the early 2000’s. Most of the time
they play Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, U2, Vertical Horizon, Matchbox
Twenty and, well you get the hint; but then I caught myself singing along to
Alien Ant Farms’ Smooth Criminal and wondered what ever happened to them? I
went on to search for other bands who left the music scene and here are some of
the artists who disappeared after 2012:
Nine Days- Absolutely (Story of a
Girl) (2000)
Michelle Branch- Everywhere (2001)
Vanessa Carlton- A Thousand Miles
(2002)
The Darkness- I Believe in a Thing
Called Love (2003)
Ryan Cabrera- On The Way Down
(2004)
Howie Day- Collide (2005)
Daniel Powter- Bad Day (2006)
Snow Patrol- Chasing Cars (2007)
Flobots- Handlebars (2008)
The Veronicas- Untouched (2009)
Orianthi- According to You (2010)
In the past we have had popular bands from the 90’s stop by
including Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray, and Gin Blossoms. On March 7th Vertical
Horizon and Tonic will be performing live at The Paramount, tickets are still available and can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the box office (open daily from 12 pm-6 pm). We hope these 10 missing artists will
make their comeback at The Paramount and if there’s a band from the past you’d
like to see #cometotheparamount let us know right here!
