Way Back Wednesday: Taylor Momsen

Taylor Momsen, lead singer of The Pretty Reckless, started her career in the entertainment business at a young age. At two years old, Momsen signed to a modeling agency and a year later she appeared in commercials and films. Momsen stared as Cindy Lou Who in The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, and as the president’s daughter in Spy Kids 2: the Island of Lost Dreams.

In 2007, Momsen became a household name when she was casted as Jenny Humphrey in the CW’s Gossip Girl. When Gossip Girl finished taping in 2012, Momsen was finally able to focus on her music. “I didn’t choose acting or modeling, I got thrown into it. I liked it, so that wasn’t a problem, but music and songwriting are what I’ve always really wanted to do.”

No one pictured the blonde beauty to be a rock-n-roll chick. “Her voice is astonishing. So many artists these days let their voices be discombobulated by computers. Taylor doesn’t do that. She doesn’t need to. She can walk into a room and kick your ass,” said Phillips of The Pretty Reckless.

The Pretty Reckless is coming to the Paramount September 20. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or through TicketMaster
