Last night Carrie Underwood premiered her take on the NBC Sunday Night Football
Theme Song. Her debut performance was played during the New York Giants vs.
Dallas Cowboys game. Earlier that morning Underwood tweeted, “I've got this
funny feeling that I'm going to be waiting all day for something...” followed
up by, “Who's ready for @SNFonNBC? Woo hoooo!!! I'm so excited!”
For the past six years, Faith Hill‘s “Waiting All Day for
Sunday Night” has been the theme song featured during the Sunday Night Football
game, and back in 2006, it was sung by Pink. It was a difficult decision for
Hill, but she tweeted, “Amazing 2 have been part of SNF - an honor. I've just
let everyone there know it's time 2 let someone else rock the open.” Hill isn’t giving up on football though; she
tweeted that she will still be watching SNF. That means she won’t miss Bruno
Mars Super Bowl halftime performance.
Grammy winner Bruno Mars, has several hits such as “When I
was Your Man,” Locked Out of Heaven,” and “The Lazy Song.” With the Super Bowl
five months away, Mars will have time to perfect his performance as did the
many artists before him. Previous acts include Beyoncé, Madonna, The Who, Bruce
Springsteen and the E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the
Rolling Stones, and Paul McCartney.
We want to know what you think. Who sings the Sunday Night
Football best? And do you think Bruno Mars Super Bowl performance will be
better than BeyoncĂ©s’?
