Twenty One Pilots Set to Connect in Huntington

Musical visionaries and creative duo Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots will be performing live at The Paramount on April 29, presented by 106.1 BLI radio station. Twenty One Pilot’s sound is so unique that it has been a trait that has endeared them to their fans.

In recent months, Twenty One Pilots have made appearances on a variety of television shows including “House of Gold” on TBS’ Conan- (which USA Today picked as one of 2013’s “10 Unforgettable Music Moments from Late-Night TV”)- and VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live. They’ve had the honor of being named as an MTV’s “Artist to Watch” during the 2013 Video Music Awards and their success with their new album Vessel has proven their well-deserved title.
Twenty One Pilots had the opportunity of a lifetime when they left Columbus, Ohio to make a record; it’s something that Joseph says they will never take for granted. The bands self-expression and fearlessness to stray from the conventions of society have driven them into the limelight. Their fans have been the inspiration behind Vessels, an album crafted to merge elements of hip hop, indie rock and punk, but its purpose is to allow fans to immerse themselves in the music and the moment, when they perform live.

Tickets are available for purchase now through Ticketmaster.com, charge-by-phone @ 800-745-3000 or The Paramount Box Office (open daily from 12 noon - 6 pm). For more information on upcoming shows sign up for our FREE online newsletter, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.

The Soundtracks That Made Movies Memorable

It wouldn’t be a Titanic movie without the theme song “My Heart Will Go On,” Dirty Dancing without the “Time of My Life,” and The Body Guard without Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.” My point being that music is the heart and soul of every iconic movie. From Hollywood films to The Paramount stage here are three bands that help make the movies we love memorable.

The Psychedelic Furs are returning to Huntington on 4/12 for a night filled with high energy alternative rock music. They have been in the cult classic 80’s movie Pretty in Pink starring Molly Ringwald and James Spader. Their music has been featured in other popular movies such as The Wedding Singer, and Some Kind of Wonderful.

The Cult phenomenon known as The Dan Band will be lighting up the stage on 5/28. They caught America’s attention in the box-office smash hit Old School, performing his now-infamous rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart, as well as his appearance as the sleazy bat-mitzvah singer in Starsky & Hutch and again as the inappropriate wedding singer in the record breaking hit The Hangover. They’ve garnered rave reviews  from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Variety, Rolling  Stone among others, and prompted Entertainment Weekly.

The Under the Sun Tour is back again to heat up the stage this summer on 7/29. The tour will feature returning bands such as Sugar Ray, and Smash Mouth along with the Blues Travelers and Uncle Kracker. Smash Mouth has performed in the film Rat Race starring Whoopi Goldberg, who will also be at The Paramount on 4/26, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Nick Schaffer. Their hit song All Star was also the theme song of animated picture Shrek. The Blues Travelers also have a couple of movie credits when they had a cameo in Kingpin and The Blues Brothers, who came to The Paramount last year.

The Paramount Gets a Taste of Sexy, Dirty, Funny

Best-selling author and brilliantly funny comedian and actress, Jenny McCarthy will be performing at The Paramount on May 3rd. Huntington is getting a taste of Sexy, Dirty, Funny hosted by Jenny for a perfect girls night out. This won’t be Jenny’s first time hosting a show; she has been a co-host on ABC’s The View since September 2013 and rang in the New Year with Ryan Seacrest, reporting live from Times Square on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

Jenny McCarthy is a fearless female always looking to push boundaries and put herself out there. Just this week Jenny and her co-host, Sherry Shepard, made headlines when they went topless on The View during a discussion about the frequent on-air nudity of Lena Dunham in HBO’s Girls.

Don’t let the blonde hair and big boobs fool you; Jenny has a heart of gold with a mission to cure an illness that according to Autism Speaks, affects 1 in 68 children. Jenny is a board member of Generation Rescue, an organization dedicated to recovery for children with autism spectrum disorders.

Tickets are available now for purchase through Ticketmaster.com, charge-by-phone @ 800-745-3000 or visit us at the box office (open daily from 12 noon - 6 pm). Your can also win a chance to meet Jenny when you come to the #sexydirtyfunny show at The Paramount. Enter to win right here!
